An American lobby group wants people to boycott a new Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavour called Schweddy Balls.
"The vulgar new flavour has turned something as innocent as ice cream into something repulsive. Not exactly what you want a child asking for at the supermarket," One Million Moms officials wrote on the group's website.
The group also wants people to e-mail Ben & Jerry's to request no additional containers of the limited-run ice cream be produced.
"The ice cream is being released in a limited batch, which means it will be distributed nationwide but only for three or four months. If it proves popular, another batch might be forthcoming, but we hope not."
Earlier this month, Ben & Jerry's launched Schweddy Balls, which is vanilla ice cream with fudge-covered rum and malt balls.
The name comes from a popular Saturday Night Life sketch in which Alec Baldwin plays a bakery owner named Pete Schweddy who goes on a national radio show called The Delicious Dish to discuss holiday baking.
"There are lots of great treats this time of year," Schweddy says in the skit. "Zucchini bread, fruitcake, but the thing that I most like to bring out at this time of the year are my balls."
Perhaps the most famous line from the skit is when Baldwin says, "No one can resist my Schweddy Balls."
In a statement on the One Million Moms website, Ben & Jerry's spokesman Sean Greenwood is quoted as saying the company isn't trying to offend people.
"Our fans get the humour."
